THE JUDGMENT OF THE NATIONS…2 Matt. 25:31–46

“God’s judgments are all just, and he will be justified by them. He is judge himself, and therefore the heavens shall declare his righteousness.” M. Henry. The Ammonites and the Moabites were excluded the sanctuary, because they met not Israel with bread and water Deut. 23:3-5. You will remember that they were children of Lot.  God counts on Israel in the flesh Rom. 9:4-5 as well as spiritual Rm. 1:29, Rom. 9:8 Israel. Let me put the words of Mathew Henry this way, If we try to ignore the reward that will come as a result of our benevolent to the brethren of Christ, let us be influenced by the fear of judgment, for they shall have judgment without mercy, that have showed no mercy Jas. 2:13.

  1. Matt. 25:41-45. “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels”
  2. ‘Depart from me ye cursed’ it rather mean depart accursed-‘Anathema’ 1Cor. 16:22, that is ‘depart under a curse’. “Because he remembered not to show mercy…as he loved cursing, so let it come unto him…” Ps. 109:16-17.
  3. The curses on earth, affect the physical and material areas of man, his animal and the land. Man will be afflicted with diseases, plagues and boils. They will suffer madness, blindness and frustration. Deut.28:15-68.
  4. This curse resting upon them as a part of the eternal sentence. We should remember that these curses are also for those who cause trouble or war at the time of peace. 2Sam.3:24-29, reject the truth 2Tim.3:8, Jude.14-16, 2Thess.2:10-12, pervert the gospel Gal. 1:6-9, Phil. 3:17-19, 2Pet. 2:12-22, and pollute the Holy Bible. Rev.22:19, Deut.4:2, Pro.30:6.
  5. ‘Into everlasting fire’ compares this with Matt. 3:12, Mark. 9:48, Matt. 5:22.  ‘Unquenchable fire’ Jud. 1:7, Mk. 9:43, Is. 66:24.
  6. Remember that hell  is a place of torment for the rebellious until the last judgment day is real. Ps. 9:17, Lk. 16:19-28. Note:- Sheol (Heb) or Hades (Gr) it is the abode of the dead/unseen world. It continues.
