THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT AND THE SECOND RESURRECTION.

Rev.20:11-15

According to Watchman Nee “The description of the throne here is modified by two adjectives: (a) “Great” – for this judgment is most extraordinary. It is great in righteousness. (b) “White” – which colour has special relation to the Lord; for example, the Lord’s hair is white and He rides on a white horse.” White hair- Rev. 1:14, Dan. 7:9; white horse- Rev. 19:11. “Him that sat upon it”-Rev. 20:11 – No doubt is the Lord that sat upon the white throne. We have many proofs in the New Testament about this, Jn. 5:22, Act. 10:41; 17:31, Rom. 2:6, 1Pet. 4:5, 2Tim. 4:1.

  1. The judgement of Satan. Rev. 20:10; 19:20, Is. 14:12, 15-20. Satan will finally be cast into the lake of fire.
  2. Eradication of the present heaven and earth. Rev. 20:11, Is. 51:5-6; 34:4, Ps. 102:25-26, Heb. 1:10-12, 2Pet. 3:7, 10, 12. “The earth and the heavens fled away and there was found no place for them” “It clearly shows that the old earth and heaven are completely destroyed; for there is the mark of sin in the old creation.” – Watchman Nee God will send fire with which to burn up the old heaven and earth, see also 2Thess. 1:6-7
  3. Judgement of Angels. Jud. 6-7, 2Pet. 2:4, remember that the saints will judge angels 1Cor. 6:3, Rev. 20:10. Rebellious angels had been reserved in prison and bottomless pit until the last judgment. All demons knew that, and they testify to this truth when Christ cast them out of the possessed. Mk. 1:23-24
    1. Prison: 1Pet. 3:19, 2Pet. 2:4, Jude. 6-7, where angels that sinned are kept.
    1. Abyss or Bottomless pit: Lk. 8:26-31, Rev. 9:1-3, 11; 11:7; 17:8; 20:1-10, it is also for fallen angels and demons. Job. 26:5-6; 28:22; 31:22, is equivalent to Abaddon.
  4. Judgement of death and hell. Rev. 20:14. Hell Is Real. Ps. 9:17, Mk. 9:43-48, Lk. 16:19-28. Note:- Sheol (Heb) or Hades (Gr) it is the abode of the dead/unseen world. Note also the Greek word Gehenna: Matt. 5:22, 29, 30.-valley of Hinnum are languages to illustrate the unending fire in hell. Mk. 9:43-49, Lk. 12:5. It is a place of torment for the rebellious until the last judgment day. It was not originally meant for man, so it will also be cast to the lake of fire.
    1. Death. 1Cor. 15:26, 54-55, Is. 25:8. Christ has already conquered the power of death Hos. 13:14-15, 2Tim.1:10, Rev. 1:18. Death will still exist till the millennium. Is. 65:20. Death and hell will be cast to the lake of fire. Death is the last enemy to be destroyed. 1Cor. 15:26
