Nebuchadnezzar’s Golden image… Dan. 3:1-30.

“God’s deliverance for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego was a great victory of faith for the Jews in captivity. They were protected from harm, they were comforted in trial. God was glorified, and they were rewarded, Let us try to be true to God no matter how difficult the pressure or punishment. God’s protection transcend anything we could imagine.” Life App. Stud Bible.

  1. Dan. 3:26 “Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the fiery furnace and spake and said…ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth of the midst of the fire.”
  2. “…ye servants of the most high God. ch. 2:47; 6:20. Ezr. 5:11. Ac. 16:17; 27:23. Ga. 1:10 the most. Ge. 14:18. “He acknowledges Jehovah to be supreme above other gods (not that he ceased to believe in these); so he returns to his original confession, “your God is a God of gods” (Da 2:47), from which he had swerved in the interim, perhaps intoxicated by his success in taking Jerusalem, whose God he therefore thought unable to defend it.” JFB
  3. “Come forth, and come hither” Jos. 3:17; 4:10, 16–17. Is. 52:12. Ac. 16:37-40. Just as Joseph, Noah, and Jonah came forth out of judgment. Jeremiah from the pit and we came out with Christ from hell. “…Come up hither…” Rev. 4:1
  4. Dan. 3:27 “The princes…saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power…”
  5. Take note of four miraculous things. Bodies were immune to the fire. No hair of the head was singled. Garments were not burned.  No smell of smoke was upon them. “An assurance to his suffering servants that they should sustain no real damage (Lu. 21:18), There shall not a hair of your head perish. Their clothes did not so much as…the fire had no power on them” M. Henry
  6. The princes gathered to see the deliverance hand of God. “1 Sa. 17:46, 47. 2 Ki. 19:19. Ps. 83:18; 96:7–9. Is. 26:11. Ac. 2:6–12; 26:26. upon. Is. 43:2. He. 11:34. nor was. This miraculous manifestation of Divine power was witnessed by the court and the nation, and was felt as a just punishment on the transgressors, and a signal display of mercy to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, which should operate on all believers to similar acts of faith and confidence in the Lord.
