THE CALL OF GOD.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. 2Pet. 1:10

What Happens When we Are Called ? Mk.3:14-15

  1. We are taught by Him. Jn. 14:26, 1Cor. 2:12, 1Jn. 2:27, Act. 20:20-21,27, 1Tim. 3:15, Act. 1:21-22. We are taught to :-
  2. To Patiently Endure:-The first sign of an Apostle, is one who is still standing when everyone else has fallen down from the pressure, discouragement, or hopelessness of a situation. Eph. 6:13,14, Heb. 11:35-38. 2Tim. 2:9-12.
  3.  Tests and tries are for us:-
  4. .Job’s sufferings permitted by God.
  5. Test and persecution promised
  6. God and Eagles.Is.40:31, Deut.32:11-14.Comfotable nest.1Pet.2:2. Comfort removed. Stirreth up the nest.NO PAIN NO GAIN. Flying lessons.
  7.  Why does God test and try us?
  8. Pressure produces enlargement. Ps.4:1.
  9. Trials proves and humbles us. Deut. 8:15-17, Jas. 5:10-11.
  10. Affliction seperates the chosen from the called. Is. 48:10 Matt. 20:16, Rev. 17:14..
  11. Suffering teaches obedience. Heb. 5:8; 12:6-8, 1Pet. 4:1-2, 15, 19.
  12. Troubles test our faith in God’s word. Ps. 105:17-19, Pro. 30:5
  13. Trials produces perseverance and maturity. Rom. 5:3-5, Jas.1:2-4
  14. A man of INTEGRITY. 1Tim. 3:2, Pro. 11:3; 19:1; 20:7-Integrity in Ethics. 1Tim. 1:18, 1Thess. 3:7, 2Thes. 3:9, 1Cor. 14:15-16. Be above reproach in your actions.You represent Christ and the church. 1Tim. 3:3,7. Your dressing, habits, lifestyle 1Tim. 2:9-10, Phil. 4:5, 1Cor. 11:4-16. An example. 1Tim. 4:12. Orderliness. 1Cor. 11:26-32; 14:23, 27-40. Godliness, fairness,  sensitivity to the problems of others. Maturity when insulted, opposed or hostility by others. 2Tim. 2:23-26, Tit. 1:9-16, 1Tim. 3:3
  15. A man of INTEGRITY. 1Tim. 3:2, Pro. 11:3; 19:1; 20:7-Integrity in words: – Mat. 12:36-37, Jas. 3:1-18, 1Tim. 3:8, Saying nothing he cannot account for or about anybody he cannot say in his presence. Does not castrate anyone. Fleeing from exaggerated praises & flatteries. 1Thess. 2:3-6. Positive in comments, speak only when comments are needed in meetings, does not say all he knows about a matter but relevant information only. All  with honest intentions.
  16. Integrity of Finance. 2Cor. 12:13-19, 1Cor. 9:7-15, 1Sam. 12:2-5.:- Simple life style with deep commitment to the extension of Christ kingdom. Tit. 1:7-8, 1Tim. 6:3-10. Not a free spender to get reputation. Faithfull in expending all funds. Accurate in all reporting, adequate details-meticulous. Paying all bills. Free from debts. 2Kg. 12:15, Num. 16:15, 1Kg. 13:8, 2Kg. 5:16. Rom. 13:6-8.
  17. To be at God’s disposal. Rom. 12:1-2, Heb. 10:5-9. What shall I give? Ps. 116:12,1 Sam. 9:7, 1Kg. 10:1-13, 1Sam. 25:10-35, LK. 7:36-50, Mat. 2:1-2,9-11, 2Kg. 8:7-13, 2Cor. 8:1-5
  18. To be loyal to the call. Heb.3:1-2, 1Cor. 4:1-2. As a son with the father: -Phil. 2:19-20, 1Cor. 4:14-17, Mat. 21:28-31, Heb. 2:9, Eph. 6:1-3, 2Cor. 8:5, Gal. 4:14-15, 1Pet.5:5-6, Phil. 4:10-19, 1Cor. 16:15-18. See also.   21. To be saturated with the word of God. Josh. 1:8-9, Deut. 6:5-9
  22. To be disciplined with regular, strenuous spiritual exercise. 1Cor.9:27, 2 Cor. 11:27.
  23. To live a prevailing prayer life. Gen. 30:1; 32:24-28, Mk.1:30, Heb.5:7.
