STUDIES IN THE BOOK OF DANIEL

DANIEL’S CONFESSION AND PRAYER FOR JERUSALEM—GABRIEL COMFORTS HIM BY THE PROPHECY OF THE SEVENTY WEEKS. DAN. 9:1-27 CONTINUES.
TEXT: DAN. 9:26-27

“God has not rejected and disowned His people (whose destiny) He had marked out and appointed and foreknown from the beginning.” Rom. 11:2 Amp “…He will banish ungodliness from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I will take away their sins.” Rom. 11:26-27. The salvation of Israel Rom. 9:27-29 as predicted by Isaiah the prophet is that a remnant (a small part of them) will be saved.

  1. The Cruel Reign of The Beast. Rev. 13:1, 2Thess. 2:4, Matt. 24:15. The seventieth week will begin with the firm covenant of peace between the Beast and the leadership of Israel. The covenant will be broken by the prince which will mark the beginning of a time of oppression of the Jewish people called “a time of trouble for Jacob” (Jer 30:7) or the tribulation period (Mt 24:29; Mk 13:24). It will be a time of unprecedented persecution of the Jewish people (Mt 24:21; Mk 13:19) and followers of Jesus (Rev 7:14)
  2. The flight of the Jews. Matt. 24:15-20, Rev. 12: 13-17. The rest of the Jews running from the Antichrist. This flight has been predicted by the Lord Himself.
  3. Israel will be kept save from the trouble of the 1260 days or 42 month or 3½ years. Rev. 12:6, 12-17, Is. 26:20-21. They are Jehovah witnesses Is. 43:10; 52:7-10. The Lord will send His mighty hand against the flood of the enemy. Is. 59:19
  4. It is called in the scriptures the time of Jacob’ trouble and the Lord will save him. Jer. 30:6-7, Is. 66:7-11; 65:11-15, Ps. 69:21-29, Dan. 12:1, Mic. 5:3, Zech. 10:9-12; 11:11-17. The Lord promised that our redeemer is strong. The Lord will always deliver His people from all troubles and trials. Ps. 34:19.
  5. The Salvation or birth and sealed of the remnant Jews. Rom. 9:27-29; 11:1-6, 26-32. God’s plan to graft Jewish believers into His programme will be fulfilled before the great tribulation. The man child and the birth of a nation. Rev. 12:1-6, Is. 66:7-10, Jer. 30:4-7.
    a. Israel is always addressed as a woman. Is. 54:1-6, Hos. 2:14-23, Ezek. 16:2-17, Jer. 3:1-14.
    b. The sun, the moon and 12 stars symbolize Israel. Gen. 39:7-12
    c. The events of Revelation chap. 4-19 is of the future and has nothing to do with the Church on earth.
    d. Daniel 9:27, the 70th week concerns Israel and Jerusalem, as did the 69th week.
