DANIEL’S VISION OF THE FOUR BEASTS. DAN. 7:1-28

The ‘little horn’ continues. Dan. 9:26-27; 7:7-9, Rev. 13:1-19; 17:8-17; 11:1-2; 16:13-16; 12:1-17

Text: Dan. 7:7-8,23-26 “And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them…and he shall subdue three kings.  And he shall speak great words… and shall wear out the saints of the most High…and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time…But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end”

The beast “…one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed…” Rev. 13:3 Rev. C. I. Scofield says “Fragments of the ancient Roman empire have never ceased to exist as separate kingdoms. It was the imperial form of government which ceased; the one head wounded to death. What we have prophetically in Rev. 13:3 is the restoration of the imperial form as such, though over the federated empire of ten kingdoms; the “head” is “healed” i.e., restored; there is an emperor again- the Beast.”

  1. An Emperor over the world as an Empire. Rev. 13:3. The head healed. i.e. restored.
  2. He will rule the world through the federated 10 kingdoms.
  3. Power was given him over all kindred, and tongues, nations and to controls kings. Rev. 13:7; 17:12-17.
  4. All that dwell upon earth will worship him. Rev. 13:8
  5. He will cause all, both small and great… to receive a mark Rev. 13:16
  6. No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, the name, or number. Rev. 13:17.
  7. He is like a leopard, a symbol of the Grecian Empire Rev. 13:2; 17:3, Dan. 7:6, has the feet of a bear, a symbol of Medo-Persia Dan. 7:5 and has the mouth of lion, a symbol of Babylon Dan. 7:4
  8. What power will he have? Dan. 8:24; 11:38-39, 2Theess. 2:8-12, Rev. 13:1-2, 4. The spirit of “the bottomless pit” will be Satan’s agent dominating the Antichrist. Re. 11:7; 17:8.
  9. He is satanically energised, Rev. 13: 2, 4 and he will understand mysteries. Dan. 8:23.
  10. His image to be worshipped by men. Rev. 13: 3-4, 8, 12, 15-16; 14:9-11; 16:2.
  11. All religion will focus on him and he will control all religion. Rev. 13:14-15, Matt. 24:23-26, 2Thess. 2:4, Dan. 8:23-26.
  12. Possess military power, do as he will and will change times and laws. Rev. 13:4, Dan. 7:25; 11:36.
  13. He will have miraculous powers Rev. 13:2-14; 16:13-16; 19:20, and his image will be given life and will do personal acts. Rev. 13:15
  14. He will have a mark, a name and a number without which no man will buy or sell. Rev. 13:16-18
  15. The rule will last only for seven years; the first 3 1/2 year of peace with Israel. Dan. 9:27 and a booming economy (cause craft to prosper). Dan. 8:25; 11:43, Rev. 13:11-18.  He will be an economic dictator (controls money). Dan. 11:38-43, Rev. 13:16-17
  16. He will have a co-worker, the false prophet. Rev. 13:11-18; 16:13-16; 19:20. This 2nd Beast is a deceiver Rev. 13:13-14.
