Nebuchadnezzar’s Golden image… Dan. 3:1-30.

“The young men had been completely untouched by the fire and the heat. ..The power available to us is the one that delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and raised Christ from the dead. Eph. 1:18-20. Trust God in every situation. There are eternal reasons for temporary trials; so be thankful that your destiny is in God’s hand, not in human hands.” Life App. Stud. Bib. One of the objectives of God in sending them to Babylon is met.

  1. Dan. 3:28 “Then, Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Sadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who hath sent his Angel, and delivered his servants that trusted him….” This confirms Jer. 42:12-13, 39:11-12. There are five  confessions from the king:
  2. Blessed be the God Blessed. ch. 2:47; 4:34; 6:26. Ge. 9:26. Ezr. 1:3; 7:23–28. “Let him have the honour both of the faithful allegiance which his subjects bear to him and the powerful protection he grants to them, neither of which can be paralleled by any other nation and their gods” M. Henry
  3. God has sent his angel. sent. ver. 25; ch. 6:22, 23. Ge. 19:15, 16. 2, 24:40 Ch. 32:21. Ps. 34:7, 8; 103:20. Is. 37:36. Ac. 5:19; 12:7–11. He. 1:14
  4. God delivers those who trust in Him. that trusted. 1Chr. 5:20. 2Chr. 20:20. Ps. 22:4, 5; 33:18, 21; 34:22; 62:8; 84:11, 12; 146:5, 6; 147:11. Is. 26:3, 4. Je. 17:7, 8. 2Cor. 1:9, 10. Ep. 1:12, 13. 1Pe. 1:21
  5. God made him change his word, ‘changed the king’s word’—have made the king’s attempt to coerce into obedience vain. Have set aside his word (so “alter … word,” Ezr 6:11) from regard to God. Nebuchadnezzar now admits that God’s law should be obeyed, rather than his (Ac 5:29
  6. The three men offered to give up their lives in order to be true to their God. and have. Ezr. 6:11. Ac. 4:19. Yielded. Ro. 12:1; 14:7, 8. Phi. 1:20. He. 11:37
